Our 97 Dodge Sport 4X4 P/U was the target of an attempted theft in early May 2006. Fortunately, the thieves were inept and did so much damage to the steering column, that the truck could not be started. A couple weeks prior to this we had become area sales reps for Ravelco and had scheduled the installation for the following week. We had it installed immediately after getting the truck back from the repair shop. Several days later we woke up to discover that they had tried to steal our truck again during the night! MY SALESMAN INDICATED THAT MY VEHICLE ALREADY HAS A FACTORY TRANSPONDER OR SMART KEY SYSTEM WHICH IS BUILT INTO ITS IGNITION KEY?
ACURA IMMOBILOZER's, AUDI IMMOBILIZER's, BMW EWSII's, CHRYSLER’s SentryKey, FORD's SecuriLock, GM's PASSlock II, HONDA's IMMOBILIZER, and TOYOTA’s Engine Immobilizer - These antitheft systems consist of a miniature transponder imbedded in the ignition key head itself, which allows the vehicle's computer to identify the "real ignition key" and thereby enable the vehicle to start. These systems are factory installed on many new vehicles at no charge. These systems keep honest people honest and are very easy to bypass. Recently, a national automotive magazine published information on how to bypass these systems - it only takes about 20 seconds. Also, there is a company that manufactures a product called the "No Key Required Bypass Kit", which bypasses the transponder key system in any vehicle made.
A salesman might tell you that because of these factory-installed systems, you do not need any extra security for your vehicle, but this is NOT TRUE! Many vehicles equipped with these systems have been stolen.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I LOSE THE RAVELCO PLUG?
The Ravelco comes with two uniquely number and coded plugs (one a spare). If you loose the Ravelco plug it is no different than if you loose the keys to your vehicle. In fact, because the Ravelco Plug is designed to be connected to your ignition ket when not in use... you should be losing both items. Thus, you would use your spare key and spare Ravelco plug... you should immediately order a replacement plug and have a spare key cut for your vehicle.
Additional or replacement plugs MUST be obtained via the manufacturer and requires your Original Sales Invoice, Ravelco Ownership Card, Copy of Your Vehicle Registration and a Copy of Your Driver's License + $25 (A Ravelco Security Protocol since 1976). All documents will be returned to you.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE RAVELCO PLUG GETS BROKEN OR DOESN'T WORK FOR SOME REASON AND I CAN'T START MY CAR?

I ALREADY HAVE AN ALARM SYSTEM AND A VEHICLE TRACKING AND RECOVERY SYSTEM . CAN I STILL USE THE RAVELCO? WILL THE RAVELCO DISABLE MY CURRENT SYSTEMS? CAN I USE THEM BOTH?
Absolutely, the Ravelco will become the foundation to your vehicle security with regards to stopping auto thieves dead in their tracks. All other existing factory or aftermarket anti-theft devices or systems will continue to operate. The Ravelco will be independent of and will be transparent to any factory or aftermarket anti-theft devices or systems.
