Factory and aftermarket electronic immobilizers. Know that all factory stuff is defeatable. Almost all are wired under the dash where the thieves (who know what they’re doing) cut the right wires and your car is gone in less than a minute. Never let a salesman convince you that the factory device is all you need. That’s not true! You have no idea how many vehicles are stolen that have factory anti theft devices. As for other aftermarket devices. There are all sorts of scanners and code grabbers available off the internet that thieves can get and “immobilize your costly immobilizer” within seconds. Don’t be fooled into thinking they are infallible. They’re not.

RAVELCO is the ONLY anti theft device that will absolutely prevent your vehicle from being stolen. You may have a broken window or a tampered ignition – but your vehicle will still be there. Your insurance company can process the claim swiftly because they can see the damage to the vehicle and get it fixed. The choice is clear – choose RAVELCO!

Oh, one other thing. If your vehicle is gone – do you really even want it back? Believe me, thieves do not have any respect for your car at all. I’ve seen where they have totally trashed victim’s vehicles. And worse yet, have urinated or deficated in them as well. Or left needles in them. Do you really want to transport yourself and your family in that vehicle ever again – no matter how much clean up effort is done? I sure would not. Don’t let your vehicle be stolen.

Choose Ravelco. It won’t let you down. It’s money well spent.

WHAT TO CHOOSE

Here is a reality check when it comes to vehicle security.

(Honest answers to your questions from the distributor)

There are all kinds of security devices and systems on the market today – all claiming to be the one for you. How do you decide? All sorts of questions come to mind? Is the factory installed system enough? Do I need an aftermarket device? What really works and what doesn’t? How do I get real value and real theft protection for the money I spend? These are all very good questions. Questions that I would also ask. Let me try to give you some sensible answers.

The first question is; do I want to actually prevent my vehicle from being stolen in the first place or am I going to be satisfied with identifying and finding it (or the parts) later? Let me answer that question for you. Absolutely - Prevent it from being stolen at all.

As a retired police officer, I cannot tell you how often I have interviewed a victim of vehicle theft who, many in tears, could only point to the vacant spot where they last left their vehicle - and now it was gone. Almost all would say something like, “How do I get to work tomorrow?” Or, “How am I supposed to go shopping or get my kids from school?” A very real problem! I have talked to contractors and truck drivers who had their heavy equipment or big rig stolen and sympathized with their frustration of, “How am I supposed to work now?” In other words, “How do I earn a living?” Again, a very real problem! And extremely traumatic!

In all cases where the vehicle is gone – the waiting begins. Waiting weeks for the insurance company to process the claim. What do you do in the mean time? Will the claim money cover the real cost of the loss? Prevent the theft! So what do you choose to accomplish that?

Tracking devices and etchings (where numbers are etched on parts and places on the vehicle).  Thieves will simply break off the antenna on tracking equipment. (How do you track that, Jack?) Who cares if all your parts have been “etched” after the vehicle has been chopped up and sold for parts. Trust me, unless the police are working on a special project, they are not out there looking for “etched” parts. So what did you spend your money for on etching you car or truck? It is, essentially, useless - you’ve wasted your money.

Alarms. Who listens to alarms any more? And who ever calls the police when they hear one? Fact is, even if someone called the police they very kely will not attend. That’s because most alarms are false (they know that) and besides, they’re far too busy with other higher priority calls.

AUTO THEFT STATISTICS

About 4 in 10 vehicle thefts occur in parking lots, the most common location. (from Statistics Canada, 2001)

More vehicle thefts (38%) occur between 6:00 a.m. and noon than in any other 6-hour period during the day.

About one-quarter of vehicle thefts are linked to organized crime. (About one-quarter of all vehicles stolen are never recovered, an indication that
these thefts may be connected to organized theft rings.)

Recovery of stolen automobiles has dropped by one-third. This is in large part tied to organized crime, which steals cars for export to other
     jurisdictions (U.S., Europe, Asia)

In the past decade Canada has become the car theft capital of North America. One car is stolen in Canada every three minutes or 480 car thefts
     every day.

Canada’s vehicle theft rate has been higher than the U.S. rate since 1996. In 2000, Canada’s rate was 25% higher than the comparable American
     rate (Statistics Canada, 2001)

More than 50,000 cars are stolen each year in Ontario. 35,000 in BC.

Over the past decade, vehicle theft rates doubled in London and Hamilton, tripled in Regina and more than quadrupled in Winnipeg. (Statistics
     Canada, 2002 numbers)
